Dear Ms. M.,

Thank you for your interest in our campaign.

Our main goal in this campaign is to convince the motion picture industry to vote against "Lost In Translation" in any awards categories including the Academy of Motion Picture Sciences, Screen Actors Guild, Writers Guild of America, etc.

This is not a traditional "protest" but rather a respectful lobbying effort to inform voters of our objections and to ask them vote against the film. We spoke with the audience at a screening a NY last night and many people expressed disliked for the film. Others were curious and stopped to listen to and talk with us, and acknowledged that the film's reliance Japanese stereotypes for humor is a problem.

We'd appreciate anything that you can do to help us communicate this issue to the motion picture industry. Your positive feedback alone if very valuable and I personally thank you.

Another important thing that you can do is to support APA artists, actors, and filmmakers. If you want to see more positive images of people that look like you on American television and film, then buy APA music, watch our shows, see our films, and support our entertainers. For example: See the upcoming independent film written, directed, produced, and starring Asian Americans called Robot Stories. The opening weekends in NYC, DC, and Boston are critical to ensure future showings of this film.

You can also keep up with the issues and how we are portrayed in American media. You may want to periodically visit our website where we will cover the important issues being discussed by our group at http://www.asianmediawatch.net

Or you can simply subscribe to our free which will send you an e-mail when the website is updated with important news.

If you want to take a more active role in our group discussions please give me a call at (xxx) xxx-xx. I'd love to hear from you.

Thank you very much for your interest and support. I hope you keep in touch.

Regards,

Kai
